Keith Haring

Crackdown

During his lifetime, Keith Haring was well known for his charity work and campaigning and promotion of good causes.

Music promoter Bill Graham revisited his old Bronx neighborhood in August, 1986 and, appalled to see that the drug culture had effectively wiped out the local culture, foresaw a menacing problem in the crack craze. He teamed with David Maldonado to stage a Crack Benefit in the city.

This poster was designed by Haring in 1986 to promote the Crack Down Benefit Concert which was held in Madison Square Gardens and headlined by Crosby Stills & Nash and also featured The Allman Brothers Band,Run DMC and Santana amongst others.

This poster comes with the accompanying programme and would make a great addition to any Haring collector.
